• This process usually occurs in leaves.

• The loss of water from plants aerial parts, mostly through stomata, while boosting nutrient intake.

• Stomata are opened for the passage of CO2 and O2 during photosynthesis.

How is transpiration a necessary evil?

Curtis referred to transpiration as a necessary evil. As we know, transpiration has a variety of advantages like it helps plant in mineral absorption and energy consumption but one of the most significant disadvantage for plants is that it dubbed an inevitable necessary evil, by causing massive water loss, resulting in plant withering or damage.
